One Nation Continues Advocacy Effort to Make Insulin Affordable for Children

March 6, 2020

One Nation, a public policy organization dedicated to promoting commonsense legislative solutions, launched a new advertisement as part of its advocacy program urging Mainers to support Senator Susan Collins’ effort in Congress to lower the price of insulin for children with diabetes.

The new spot, “Lydia,” features a mother and father with their young daughter who suffers from diabetes. The new spot begins running statewide in Maine today.

The script of the advertisement can be found below:

[Lydia’s mom] Lydia can’t live without insulin.

So being able to afford it is huge.

For kids like Lydia with diabetes, no one’s worked harder than Senator Susan Collins.

Susan’s really been on a mission for a long time to make insulin affordable for all kids.

[Lydia’s dad] She really makes an effort to help families like ours.

Her efforts have truly made a difference towards lower costs for treating Type One.

[Lydia] I really think that Senator Collins is going to keep working until we have a cure.

She’s not going to stop.

[Narrator] Tell Senator Collins to keep fighting in Congress to help kids with diabetes.
