One Nation, a public policy organization dedicated to promoting commonsense legislative solutions, launched a second advertisement as part of its advocacy program urging Mainers to support Senator Susan Collins’ effort to lower the price of insulin for Americans with diabetes.
The new spot, “Life and Death,” features a mother with her young daughter who suffers from diabetes – the same girl who appeared in One Nation’s spot, “Ruby,” that ran through the month of January in Maine. The new spot is backed with a $500,000 buy running statewide in Maine on television, radio, and digital from 2/4 – 2/28.
The script of the advertisement can be found below:
[Ruby’s mom] Access to insulin is a matter of life and death for Ruby.
Senator Collins has been triumphing for insulin affordability for everyone.
It shouldn’t cost $400 for a vial of insulin.
People shouldn’t be paying that amount to stay alive.
And that’s what Susan Collins is fighting to fix.
[Ruby] Having diabetes is hard, but I’m glad there’s a grownup like Susan Collins to help me out with it.
[Narrator] Tell Senator Collins to keep up the bipartisan fight to help kids with diabetes.
