One Nation Continues Advocacy Effort to Combat Diabetes

October 17, 2019

One Nation, a public policy organization dedicated to promoting commonsense legislative solutions, released a second advertising wave as part of its $370,000 television and digital advocacy effort urging Mainers to support Senator Susan Collins’ work in Congress to combat diabetes. The first spot, “Fighting Diabetes,” launched on October 8. The new spot, “Helping Kids,” can be viewed here.

“Diabetes is a serious public health issue that gets far less attention than it warrants. Sen. Susan Collins deserves credit for spending the last two decades helping diabetes sufferers and working for more affordable, effective treatment. Sen. Collins’ legislation to make Insulin more affordable for more than 1.25 million Americans who rely on the drug is another important step in the right direction, and Mainers should be united in urging its passage.” -One Nation Vice President for Policy Steven Duffield

The script of the ad can be found below:

Life is tough for children with diabetes.

[Senator Collins]: “And I’ll never forget this little ten-year-old boy looking up at me and saying that he just wished he could take one day off from having diabetes.”

Senator Susan Collins is fighting for a cure, championing affordable treatment and research.

Families facing diabetes need our help.

Tell Susan Collins: keep up the fight in Congress to help children with diabetes.
