One Nation: Senate Should Reject Speaker Pelosi’s Big-Government Drug Scheme

September 19, 2019

Speaker Nancy Pelosi rolled out a new prescription drug pricing plan this morning, proposing to place the government in charge of prescription drug medication for millions of Americans.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell pilloried the Pelosi prescription drug plan earlier today, stating: “Socialist price controls will do a lot of left-wing damage to the healthcare system. And of course we’re not going to be calling up a bill like that.”

The plan comes on the heels of a renewed national debate over single-payer healthcare, also known as Medicare for All. One Nation has led the charge against this government takeover of the U.S. healthcare system, running two multi-million dollar national advertising campaigns to educate Americans on its ill effects.

“Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s prescription drug scheme is another step towards Medicare for All, the deeply unpopular plan to take away every American’s private health insurance. Instead of putting bureaucrats between Americans and their prescription drugs, we should be working to encourage innovation so that better medicines are created and prices come down through market competition.” -One Nation Communications Director Jack Pandol
