After the Senate failed to pass the partisan election takeover known as the For the People Act, One Nation released the following statement:
“S 1 is dead and the filibuster is alive. Today marks an important step in giving Americans confidence our elections are secure and free from partisan influence with the defeat of the For the People Act. One Nation was proud to invest in an advocacy effort opposing this partisan power grab, and we will remain vigilant to ensure it remains dead and buried.” -One Nation President Steven Law
Polling commissioned by One Nation and published in Punchbowl News demonstrated S 1 was “a bad solution in search of a problem.” Americans broadly rejected liberal premises that voting is under assault, instead preferring a focus on solutions that make elections more secure. One Nation’s polling also demonstrated much of the bill was unpopular with the American people, including provisions to undermine Voter ID, give taxpayer funding to campaigns, and put Washington in charge of elections.
One Nation invested in defeating the For the People Act, spending $1.85 million across five states on an anti-S 1, pro-filibuster advertising effort. Read the full story on the advocacy effort in Politico.
